RINA TOVA TORCHINSKY

Hi, I'm Rina. 👋

I'm a tenacious data analyst and digital media professional with degrees in information science and journalism from the University of Maryland. I'm currently a senior data analyst in The Washington Post's audience strategy department. I like to analyze data, brainstorm and build things.

I've written about electric vehicles and tax credits at Forbes, and economics at The Wall Street Journal. I've also developed graphics at NPR and investigated public housing evictions with the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. I contributed data reporting to the Pulitzer finalist "Lethal Restraint," a collaboration among The Associated Press, FRONTLINE (PBS) and the Howard Centers at the University of Maryland and Arizona State University.

I'm comfortable working with Python, SQL and R, and am always curious about taking a stab at another language.

When I'm not writing or coding, I'm dribbling a basketball, watering indoor plants or maintaining my Duolingo streak.
