RINA TOVA TORCHINSKY

Hi, I'm Rina. 👋

I'm a tenacious data analyst and digital media professional with degrees in information science and journalism from the University of Maryland. I thrive at the intersection of data, media and tech.

I'm currently a senior data analyst in The Washington Post's audience strategy department. Previously, I worked as a reporter and data journalist, contributing to Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and National Public Radio, among others.

I’m passionate about understanding audiences through data, designing data-powered solutions, and bridging the gap between technical and nontechnical thinkers. I recently completed the JournalismAI Skills Lab, a program through the media think-tank at the London School of Economics (Polis LSE), supported by the Google News Initiative. I was one of 20 participants across 17 countries.

I'm comfortable working with Python, SQL and R, and am always curious about taking a stab at another language.

When I'm not writing or coding, I'm dribbling a basketball, watering indoor plants or maintaining my Duolingo streak.
